Carbs

Part of Riley's 87 Virago

Hitachi HCS40 Carbs. These are 40mm with a fuel cut valve. New parts arrived and they were much better quality than the cheap kits. The diagrams were realy good quality and following their instructions were Painless to install and the fit perfectly. Carbs are synced and the bike idles at just under 1000rpmmand reveal out nicely.

Fuel cut valve diaphragm. New ones on order. Could likely use the old, but we are doing a complete rebuild and refresh. I Have Carb Clean... the WD-40 was just there. :D

Had a terrible time syncing the carbs. I then noticed there was an adjustment missing. It was missing from before I got it. So iI devised a little workaround.
